In modern offices characterized by open spaces, there is an increasing demand for solutions that provide privacy and tranquility for work or phone calls. The OfelosBox is an acoustic booth designed to reduce noise and stress in the workplace. To validate its effectiveness, an independent test was conducted by the SGS laboratory. The results indicate that the OfelosBox achieves Class A in speech level reduction, signifying a superior level of soundproofing. The complete study is available at the end of this article.

Why is acoustic testing so important?
Claims about the soundproofing effectiveness of acoustic booths often lack concrete measurements. Without independent verification, it is impossible to determine their actual performance. Therefore, conducting formal testing in accordance with the international standard ISO 23351-1:2020(E) is essential to ensure objective results. This standard specifies a laboratory method for measuring the speech level reduction of furniture ensembles and enclosures, providing a reliable basis for comparison. Consequently, companies and users can be confident that they are investing in solutions that truly deliver the promised acoustic performance.
How is soundproofing measured?
The test was conducted in a specialized reverberation room with a volume of 200 m³, where the difference in sound power levels was measured between scenarios with and without the booth. Utilizing A-weighting correction, which reflects the sensitivity of human hearing, provides a realistic assessment of the booth's soundproofing performance in typical operating conditions.
Measurement Results and Classification
In a recent test, the OfelosBox achieved a speech level reduction (DS,A) of 30.1 dB, earning it a Class A rating under the ISO 23351-1 standard. This classification signifies a high level of sound insulation, ensuring substantial noise reduction and providing users with a peaceful environment. For context, typical human speech registers around 60 dB; thus, a reduction of 30 dB diminishes the sound to approximately the level of a whisper, rendering it nearly inaudible in a standard office setting.

What Does This Mean for Users?
Enhanced Focus: With a 30.1 dB reduction in speech level, the perception of surrounding noise is significantly minimized. This allows users to work or conduct phone calls within the booth without being distracted by nearby conversations.
Privacy Protection: With a high level of soundproofing, OfelosBox provides an ideal environment for confidential phone calls, meetings, or video conferences. Employees can conduct sensitive conversations without concerns about eavesdropping or external disturbances.
Reduced Stress and Increased Productivity: Disruptive noise in open-plan offices can elevate stress levels and diminish work efficiency. Implementing soundproof booths, such as the OfelosBox, offers employees a tranquil retreat within the bustling office environment, facilitating better concentration and reducing fatigue associated with constant noise exposure.
